Annual Food Drive
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Annual Food Drive?
How does the Annual Food Drive work?
Our team of volunteers will be going door-to-door collecting non-perishable food. We encourage you to leave a bag or box of donations on your front step before 9:00 a.m. Wondering what date our team will stop by your place? You will receive a reminder (a door hanger in the mail or on your door) the week leading up to your food drive Saturday.
What time will volunteers be at my door?
Our volunteers head out for door-to-door collection at 9:30 am and are usually finished their route by 12:00 pm. So you can expect a visit to your door by one of our volunteers between 9:30 am and 12:00 pm. To help the process go more smoothly, have your donation set out on the front step by 9:00 am. That way, our volunteers can stop by and collect it without interrupting your morning!
What areas in Quinte West will be covered?
While we do our best to cover the entire Quinte West area, we are still working on incorporating all areas. Click here to see a description of the exact areas we will be covering and when. If you have any questions about your specific location, don’t hesitate to contact our office at 613-394-5551.
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! Our Annual Food Drive couldn’t be done without our team of volunteers!
How can I volunteer?
There are two main ways you can volunteer for the Food Drive: by being a walker or a driver. Walkers will go door to door collecting bags of food. Drivers will drive their own vehicle in which the food donations will be placed and take them back to the Food Bank once their route is done. Usually a team consists of 1 driver and 2 walkers. Volunteer as a team or as an individual; everyone is welcome!

I won't be home during the Food Drive. Can I still donate?
Yes! We have several drop-off locations in Quinte West where you can take non-perishable
food donations at any time. You can also bring food donations directly to the Food Bank during our operating hours.
Drop-off locations are stationed at the following local business:
- Smylie’s Independent
I live in an apartment. Will you still collect donations at my door?
Due to security and layout of many apartment buildings, our volunteers are not permitted to enter the building and go door-to-door. However, we’d love for everyone to be able to participate in the Annual Food Drive. For those living in apartment, we encourage you to bring your donations to one of our drop-off locations in Quinte West, which can be found at Walmart, Freshco, Metro & Smylie’s Independent. You can also bring food donations directly to the Food Bank during our operating hours.
