Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is committed to the vision of ending hunger in Quinte West. It is composed of local community members with a diverse range of skills and experiences who are dedicated to serving the community.
Marg Korver
Chairperson
I am presently the Chair for the Board of Directors of the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank. As a retired elementary school teacher, I witnessed how important daily healthy food is for children to learn well. In retirement, I was a volunteer at my church doing benevolence work in the local community and became aware of a position available at the Food Bank, I applied and have been on the Board since 2020.
Carol Gilbert
Vice Chairperson
Carole began her food bank volunteering in 2006 at Pinecrest Community Centre in Ottawa. When Carole and Roger moved to Brighton in 2008, she joined the Friday morning volunteers to distribute food at the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank. In 2011, Carole was asked by the Trenton Wesleyan Church board to be their representative on the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank Board. She has had the honour of serving as Chair and is currently holding the position of Vice Chair. Through her association with TCSFB she has seen the great need we have in the Quinte West area for our food bank. It has also led to her volunteering at Catherine’s Kitchen and Community Partners for Success. Through her association with these organizations, she had had the pleasure of working with people dedicated to helping improve the lives of those living on our community. She hopes to be able to help the people of Quinte West for many more years to come.
Sarah Wolters
Treasurer
Sarah is an accounting professional working in the Quinte West and surrounding areas as an accounting consultant. She is pleased to serve as treasurer on the board and is dedicated to using her time and expertise to serve and support those in the Quinte West community.
Sarah Richardson
Secretary
Sarah has had the privilege of serving as the Board Secretary for over a decade. After she organized a food drive with the church youth group she led, she was invited to join the board and has embraced the opportunity to make a difference ever since. As a long-time resident of Quinte West, Sarah looks forward to continuing her collaboration to improve the lives of those in our community.
Gwelda MacDonald
Director
Gwelda MacDonald is a retired policy advisor who worked in the area of developmental disabilities with the former Ministry of Community and Social Services at Queen’s Park. She began her career as an orientation and mobility specialist with the National Training Centre of the CNIB. Gwelda currently serves on the board of a federal political riding association and was, until recently, a member of the Quinte West Accessibility Committee. She is passionate about ending food insecurity and homelessness, and remains committed to advancing equity and inclusion in her community.
Alison Poirier
Director
Having volunteered at the Care & Share Food Bank for a year and seeing the increasing needs of the community, as well as all of the positive work being done already I wanted to use my background in Human Resources and previous Board member experience to use, helping with the strategic planning of the Food Bank.
Sue Korver
Director
Sue spent 30 years working as a Service Rep for Bell Canada before starting work for the John Williams YMCA.
After leaving the Y she worked for Wendy at Rolf the Jeweler and is now a licensed Funeral Pre-Arranger for Weaver Family Funeral Homes.
Sue joined the board of the Food Bank as the representative from Trenton United Church. She spends time doing the community lunches provided by Trenton United Church and volunteers at the warming centre.
